Lately it seems I’ve been seeing a ton of these type of family decals on cars and vans (image found here – I’m not endorsing or promoting Range Rovers) and it got me thinking about my EmilysBreakfast Furniture family.
I’ve been in my role as general manager for almost five years and I’ve interacted with many of my volunteers and customers since I started and we’ve very much become “family” and I treasure that. It’s why I work 12 hour days in a warehouse that’s approximately 1 million degrees, but I digress.
I’m thankful to have an amazing extended family – related to me by blood, adoption and marriage – but to have another “family” who I work with who I love and who make work fun – is incredible. I don’t think they make car decals for that kind of family – or maybe they do but there are no back windows that could hold all the images!
Yesterday, late afternoon, as sweat was dripping off varies parts of my body and I still had lots of pricing to do – one of my work family members stopped back in the store (she had already been in earlier to help arrange) to see if I needed help. In addition to the sweat, my face was beet-red and I’m pretty sure my hair was standing on end – to say Connie was an answer to prayer wouldn’t be an exaggeration!
You see we have TONS of merchandise right now. Seriously, our 30,000 square feet of warehouse space can hardly hold it all! We are almost literally bursting at the seams! So, today (Friday) from 1 to 8 or tomorrow (Saturday) from 9 to 4 would be an excellent time to stop in and have a look. What follows are more than 60 photos which represent SOME of what’s currently for sale (most of the photos are of items we received for donation this week – though I did snap some pictures of the more unique pieces which came in last week when I was on vacation).
gorgeous slip-covered sofa (fabric is brownish/black) priced $245 (some minor pet hair on sofa)
these rattan pieces are by “excursions” – chair and ottoman priced $175 (two of the bun feet on the ottoman need repairs); chair $145
amazing coffee table with protective glass top (cut to follow the curvy lines of the table) priced $125; matching end table – also with protective glass – priced $95

swivel bar stools priced $25 each and there are three of them

with a little work (need sanding/re-painting or staining and some minor tightening of screws) these are fantastic outdoor pieces – very comfortable (curved back instead of straight across) – individual chair is priced $45; two chairs joined together with a table in-between (the whole thing is attached) priced $125; individual chair with ottoman priced $85
chaise with extra pillows priced $45
The Lady of Castile caught my eye the minute I entered the store earlier this week – isn’t she grand? – priced ONLY $35!
this love seat reclines on each end and is priced $95 (not sure what’s the dusty look on the head rests in my photo – piece is in very good condition)
gorgeous Krader-Wolf chair and ottoman for $165; matching sofa for $295

totally fun, red vinyl side chair priced $45
fine blue sofa for $40

blue/gray leather sofa for $225 (small rip along back cushions)
fantastic Heywood Wakefield dresser with mirror (mirror is tucked behind the dresser) priced $345; matching night stand for $125

fabulous retro bedroom set by Century – tall chest of drawers priced $125; night stands for $50 each – there are two of them; dresser with mirror (not shown) priced $95
about a month ago, we received for donation a Broyhill two piece retro china cabinet which I fell in love with and I mentioned was my favorite piece that week. We sold it the same weekend and I had several people ask about it. Well, wonders never cease – we received a second identical Broyhill two piece retro china cabinet in this week! It’s just as nice as the first one and I priced it the same, $125
drop leaf table with one leaf and four chairs priced $95
gorgeous Thomasville side chair in a fabulous green priced $135
fantastic table, one leaf and four chairs priced $165
I’m sorry if these photos are hard to see – starting top left – there’s a bar-height swivel stool and it’s priced $45 and there are two of ‘em ($90 for the two); in same photo, if you look carefully, there’s a café-height table with one self-storing leaf (folds and stores right under the table very nicely and neatly) priced $145; next photo just shows the stool again; last photo is a wine/storage piece priced $145
very nice table (no leaves) with inland wood (some water damage to table top) and four chairs priced $175
this is a lovely, heavy, outdoor set (maybe covered porch or sun room would be better so cushions don’t get wet and/or fade) which includes: two chairs, end table and three cushion sofa priced $245 for the whole thing. Can’t you see this set painted black? Sunny yellow? Red? Love. It.
not sure what’s with all the bar stools this week – but here’s another set – fun, retro, swivel – not as high as the other set and these are priced $40 each
lovely, amazing, heavy, wood coffee table priced $125
oh my goodness – how amazing are these fish-pedestal, glass top tables? Very amazing! coffee table is priced $95; matching sofa or hall table for $75
fantastic sofa in excellent condition priced $265
love seat priced $20; matching sleeper sofa for $35
I’ve never seen anything like these two matching pieces – second drawer is for hanging files! – one of the two has some rings on the top (from a plant?) and the file drawer needs work on one of the slides so is priced cheaper than the other (other is in perfect condition). Perfect one is priced $155; not so perfect one is $100
Another part of my EmilysBreakfast Furniture family includes you, dear reader (in a good – not creepy – way)! Every Friday when I sit down to compose my weekly update I send up a prayer that you’re doing well and I feel such gratitude that you stop by the blog and often stop by the store too!
I hope I see you soon and though I said the temperature in the store is 1 million degrees – compared to the outside temperature – it’s positively cool (at least that’s what I keep telling myself)!
Comments "What makes a family and what does that have to do with EmilysBreakfast Furniture? I thought you’d never ask!"
